The digital research project "Democracy and Freedom: Digital Museum of European Solidarity to Greece (1967-1974)" was developed by the Contemporary Social History Archives (ASKI) as part of the Operational Programme ‘Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation 2014-2020’, Ministry of Economy and Finance,  General Secretariat for Management of Sectoral Programs of European Regional Development Fund, Cohesion Fund and European Social Fund, EPAnEK 2014-2020, under the Priority Axis ‘Development of mechanisms to support entrepreneurship’. The project was co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The website for the Digital Museum of European Solidarity to Greece (1967-1974) hosts more than 100,000 documented and catalogued digital images of archival materials and publications from the collections of ASKI and the Society for the Study of Left Youth History (EMIAN/ASKI). This digital repository sheds light on a largely unknown aspect of the dark years of the 21 April dictatorship: the wide geographical and thematic scope of European anti-dictatorship activity and solidarity to the Greek people. From the actions of Greek communities abroad to solidarity events by foreign organisations, associations, and political parties, this digital repository composes a panorama of freedom struggle by illuminating networks of people and organisations and documenting acts of protest and resistance, all demanding the fall of the junta and the establishment of Democracy in Greece.
