Solidarity on the front page

Anti-dictatorship periodical publications were among the most effective tools for spreading the ideas of the freedom struggle and publicising its acts of resistance against the regime. Between 1967 and 1974, numerous periodicals, newspapers, and bulletins were published and circulated across the entire European continent in an effort to raise awareness and disseminate information to the European public about the developments in Greece. At the same time, these publications functioned as points of contact and operational support for an extensive anti-dictatorship network. This interactive map, specially designed for the project, revives this pan-European network of resistance, as the multi-language and multi-cultural expression of support and solidarity circulated through anti-dictatorship publications is granted specificity, acquiring geographical coordinates.
